SUCCESSFUL
From the press
“The definitive book on corporate branding makes the case that successful companies have successful designs—but the relationship between those successes remains mysterious. ”
Commentary
The French noun succès has no adjectival form like success does in English. This can make it tricky to translate successful. The past participle of its verb equivalent réussir sometimes works (a successful event/un événement réussi). Other times, switching the adjective to a noun (Our product launch was successful vs. Our product launch was a success) or a verb (How to throw a successful party vs. How to succeed with a party) can be a solution. There are also times when English says successful and French drops it altogether (Sustainability is at the heart of our successful business model vs. Sustainability is at the heart of our business model). So for successful translations, we suggest you browse the examples below from our archives.
