As Project Manager, your job is to understand client needs and make sure we meet them. What resources do we need? Is there enough time? Can we be profitable and still provide value for money? You will prepare quotes, negotiate details, coordinate all production, and make sure we deliver as promised—all while providing an exceptional client experience.
Your daily routine:
- Receive and review incoming job requests
- Identify client needs and project feasibility and profitability, and recommend suitable solutions
- Draw up quotes, including deadlines, cost, and other terms and conditions
- Set a budget and timeline for each incoming job
- If a job is related to a previous project, ensure appropriate coordination between all work processes and phases
- Assign work to the best person for the job
- Follow up to make sure that all interim and final deadlines are met and that the project stays on budget
- Take corrective measures as necessary to keep jobs on time and on budget and notify clients of any important changes
- Act as the main contact for all parties (clients, translators, other stakeholders), solving problems as they arise or are brought to your attention
- Build client loyalty and make sure clients are satisfied
- Attend production and management meetings as required
- Invoice all completed work
You will be working under the supervision of an assistant account manager, who will oversee your progress within the team and in your profession.
This position may be ideal for you if you:
- Have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in translation or in a related field
- Have at least five years’ experience in translation project management
- Have excellent communication skills in French and English, both spoken and written
- Enjoy working with a team and exceeding expectations
- Are familiar with layout, computer graphics, and graphic design
- Are noted for your customer service skills
- Are conscientious about the quality of your work
- Have a proven talent for negotiation
- Are familiar with advanced translation-assistance tools
- Are able to handle tight deadlines
- Are flexible and available
- Are enthusiastic about meeting challenges and show a clear willingness to work on your continued improvement
